16th Domani: The Art of Tomorrow Exhibition

The National Art Center, Tokyo
Finished
With the aim of supporting artists with promising futures, the Agency for Cultural Affairs has sent young artists overseas and provided them with research opportunities in specialist fields since 1967. It has sponsored 15 exhibitions presenting the findings of this research, choosing artists active in a variety of genres who represent the Japanese art of their day. Showcasing the diversity and power of art, the 16th exhibition introduces architecture as a new genre. It features the projects of 44 architects in the experimental theme of “houses of the future,” while also displaying the works of eight artists active in other genres.
