Artist’s statement: “I am attracted to things that have survived over time and have been passed down hand to hand through repeated human activities. But, above all, I am drawn to the objects taking root in a religious faith. I sometimes feel that their various appearances are closely related to climate, religious ideas, and people’s lives and deaths, and are connected to each other on a profound level. I created these paintings as an attempt to explore the essence hidden there.”
