The Yamamoto Gendai Future Feature is an irregular series presenting promising artists from a variety of galleries and genres. It features work that seems both unrestrained and urgent from up-and-coming creators and movements that are tackling the issues of the society and age. Yamamoto Gendai considers presenting these works to be part of its mission.
Tensai High School!!!!, or “Genius High School!!!!” is the contemporary art class taught by Ryuta Ushiro, leader of the artistic unit Chim↑Pom. Made up mainly of individuals and groups of people in their 20s, the well-attended school, now in its third year, continues to create and express under the guiding principle that art is a kind of combat sport that anyone of any ability can fight in, as long as they understand the arena and the rules.
