Chic, le sport ! ⅩI— Forgotten Olympics

Ginza Maison Hermès
Finished
This November, Maison Hermès introduces ““Un regard neuf sur Olympia” (New Perspectives on Olympia 52), an homage to Chris Marker. Commissioned by the French government, “Olympia 52” is a documentary on the 1952 Helsinki Olympic Games and Marker’s first feature-length film. Although it has largely been forgotten with the passage of time, sixty years after its debut director Julien Faraut revisits and sheds new light on the film, exploring the magic of revising and editing during the Cold War era. Along with pieces of history discovered in numerous documents and letters, little by little the hidden secrets of “Olympia 52,” said to be the origin of Marker’s filmmaking, are revealed.
