Project N53 - Teppei Ikehira

Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery
Finished

Artists

Teppei Ikehira
The paintings of Teppei Ikehira are held within a strange perspective as if taken from the set of a theater production. The images which burst upon these scenes, are an assortment of seemingly unconnected images which Ikehira daily describes within in his work in an attempt to capture the sense of “now”. Images of the artist’s momentary desire of creation gush across the canvas in a locus of the artist’s own sensibility, stored within the plane of the painting like a brimming toy box. Ikehira is also engaged in a variety of workshops and projects involving collaboration with a wide range of participants, actively engaging different inputs while preserving his own position, in a unique pursuit of originality, adding strength to each of his works.
