The Ukiyo-e of the Edo era captured not only the scenes of Edo city with its Kabuki, pleasure districts, geisha, famed places and fashionable women but also a particular culture and aesthetic which is in danger of dying out in our contemporary age. This exhibition presents 250 examples of Ukiyo-e in pursuit of the essential beauty of Edo.
