Chiyoda Ward has been at the heart of Japan’s politics, culture, and economy since the beginning of the Tokugawa shogunate in 1603. Commemorating the 30th anniversary of Ward Cultural Assets Preservation Ordinance in 2014, this two-part exhibition introduces the history of Edo and Tokyo with excavated artifacts and cultural assets from the area.
