Placing a fresh eye on the traditional technique of woodblock printing with water soluble paints on washi paper, this exhibition celebrates the lasting legacy of this printing method, its inheritance through generations and its seemingly eternal imprint upon the identity of Japan. This exhibition, spread over 7 themes, comes to examine the very essence of woodblock printing and questions its wide appeal which continues to this day.
