Centering around early 20th century New Orleans William P.Gottlieb followed the masters of the golden age of jazz with his lens, giving birth to work which captured the history of jazz, with bold lighting illuminating the power of jazz stars at the peak of their performance. Following on from this Jean‐Pierre Leloir continued to place an eye upon the jazz forms of the 1940s while also extending his eye to other scenes of the contemporary times imbued with a high sense of the cinematic.
