Maki Fine Arts presents Transparency, an all-female group show with artists Michiko Nakatani, Sayaka Miyata, and Sayaka Suzuki. Fresh back from Dresden after attending a study abroad program for emerging artists sponsored by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, Michiko Nakatani continues to seek new expressions for her plaster art, showcasing here new relief works, some which have never been shown to the public before. Sayaka Miyata is based in Kyoto, and Transparency marks her first show at Maki Fine Arts in which she offers up new and recent embroidery art featuring animals. Sayaka Suzuki’s paintings have gained much attention after receiving the top award for the 2013 VOCA (Vision of Contemporary Art) competition. In Transparency, Suzuki will present new paintings which have evolved after her return from the Tokyo Wonder Site international exchange program in Basel.
