Starting in September, 2014, Lixil Gallery’s new “Future of Creation” series presents four leading Japanese creators in the fields of art and architecture: Toshio Shimizu (art director), Ryohei Miyata (metal craftsman), Toyo Ito (architect), and Kengo Kuma (architect). Each director oversees one three-month exhibition giving visual representation to a theme of his own choosing. The first show, “Breath of Ether,” presents the works of contemporary artist Kosuke Kimura under the director of Toshio Shimizu. Four new works are on display, including an installation using a giant mirror.
