The showcase in the entrance hall of Yokohama Civic Gallery, Azamino introduces up-and-coming artists. Now on display are Makiko Tsuji’s “cameras” from the gallery’s collection. These new works in fact only “borrow the face” of cameras, as they are really scrap painted to look as if they possess a camera’s functions and form. However, giving them the same textures as the real items reveals new aspects by bringing their differences into relief.
