In recent years there has been witnessed a revival of local cultures through various publications drawing attention to the uniqueness of local areas, bringing new eyes upon these communities through the craft of editing and design. In this exhibition 47 of such “Cultural Magazines” have been gathered from around the country and reflect upon our awareness of Japan’s local culture, while also offering opportunities for deeper discussion in a symposium of the editor in chiefs of a number of these publications.
