This event has ended.

Since leaving his native Okinawa to work in Tokyo Gakiya has worked widely as an illustrator for magazines, commercials and web design, while at the same time enjoying success as an artist, winning the Grand Prize of 2009’s 1_Wall exhibition and actively participating in a range of solo and group shows. Gakiya’s style is defined by his collage like approach, combining all variety of materials from paper to plastic bags to old tickets with pen and acrylic depicting manga and anime characters in a style which flourished as a subculture in post-war America, often incorporating images from horror and science fiction tales. This exhibition entitled P.O.V (Point of View Shot) offers up a reflection of Gakiya’s artistic career from 2006 to the present with a collection of drawings, collages and canvas works.
