Ryoji Ikeda
Japan’s world-renowned electronic music composer Ryoji Ikeda presents a one-day live performance of “Datamatics [ver. 2.0]” and “Supercodex [Live Set],” two of his major works from recent years. Ikeda has held performances and exhibitions at international events including Barcelona’s Sónar electronic music concert and Linz’s cutting-edge art festival “Ars Electronica.” He is also making waves in Japan, presenting works at a 2009 solo show at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo, as well as an enormous light installation, “Spectra,” displayed at the 2010 Aichi Triennale. Performed live in clubs and art spaces around the world, his shows shake the senses and the body with their complex layers of energetic and intricate beats and noise. For one special night only, Ikeda presents two of Ikeda’s amazing, inimitable performances in the cultural capital of Harajuku.
