Kei Tsuji
Presenting work by the artist Kei Tsuiji. Taking traditional Japanese culture as its theme, “Ishiki no Sheruta” (The Shelter of Consciousness) was made by spreading and tying the floss of silkworms raised by elementary school students in Shirataka, Yamagata Prefecture with cocoons dyed with Yamagata safflowers. Another work explores the “resurrection” of the earth, incorporating the “tamafuri”, an enormous musical instrument with a traditional plaster finish made from Kanto loam soil.
