”Quai Branly Tokyo – Pure Forms: Currencies of African Tribes”
Intermediatheque
This event has ended.
The Intermediatheque undertakes an unprecedented project in bridging together two institutions, that of a French national museum, the Quai Branly Museum and a university museum, that of the University of Tokyo, through the loan of their collections. This is first pursued in “Pure Forms: Currencies of African Tribes” bringing together some twenty currencies of African tribes covering Chad, Nigeria, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Congo and Gabon, featuring a first-class collection bridging ethnology and sculpture, rarely seen in the context of Japanese museums.
