December 2014 marks 100 years since the opening of Tokyo station, celebrated here in an exhibition overviewing its history which has seen the Great Kanto Earthquake, the assassination of a prime minister and the Tokyo bombings of WWII while at the same time highlighting its position in personal narratives and individual memories of the everyday, introduced through architectural plans, paintings, photography and literature, placing emphasis upon this building as an important cultural icon.
