A growing number of Japanese architects have been involved in groundbreaking projects in Switzerland in recent years, bringing a fresh style to the local world of architecture while carefully considering the Swiss landscape. This exhibition introduces five of the most recent projects by Japanese architects in Switzerland: Kengo Kuma, Sanaa (Kazuyo Sejima + Ryue Nishizawa), Shigeru Ban, and Riken Yamamoto. With purpose and location in mind, the approaches, contents, and structural beauties of these works all differ. What they all share, however, is the context of the Swiss environment. Personal recollections and items collected by the architects while in Switzerland are also on display at the “Architects’ Table.”
