The Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions is a 15-day film and art festival featuring exhibitions, film screenings, live performances, and other events. Each festival examines the question, “What is a visual image?” through a diverse range of artworks and programs converging from around Japan and the world. Under the theme “true colors,” the sixth festival showcases the diversity of contemporary society through visual media. This is an opportunity to think about the importance of what is lost through the process of globalization, as well as consider the creation of new communities and connections and their possibilities for the future. “True Colors” captures the state of the present in a wide range of visual expressions.
