This event has ended.
“Glitch” is an artistic production technique on the rise in recent years. It involves using the digital data of “bugs” such as mechanical and digital errors to create music, art, and other unique forms of expression. Isetan Shinjuku Store’s Tokyo Kaihoku is breaking new ground with an experiment using “glitch” techniques to blend fashion and technology. It now introduces glitch works by several up-and-coming Japanese and international artists, including Nukeme and Ucnv, two key persons in Japan’s glitch scene. In addition to enjoying these works, visitors can use programming functions on computers, print out their own “bugged” designs on a Mimaki Engineering sublimation printer, and place orders within the store.
Venue: Isetan Shinjuku Store, 2F Center Park, Tokyo Kaihoku
