Jaime Sunico, a major Spanish artist, has exhibited paintings at galleries including Barcelona’s Galleria Senda, Paris’s Marwan Hoss, and Munich’s Von Braunbehrens, in addition to having works published. Participating in prestigious art fairs such as Art Basel, Pulse NY, Arco Madrid, Kiaf Seoul, and Art Basel Miami, Sunico has had works purchased by international collectors.

Commemorating Japan and Spain’s 400 years of diplomatic relations, this exhibition presents Sunico’s portraits exploring past and present commonalities between Japan and Spain in a variety of fields. The paintings’ subjects include scientists and educators from both countries, Spanish fishers, and ama-san divers from Onjuku, Chiba Prefecture.
