Andy Warhol: 15 Minutes Eternal
This event has ended.
Andy Warhol (1928 - 1987), the standard-bearer of Pop Art, was born in the United States and became a leading artist in the second half of the 20th century against the backdrop of the American consumer society and the age of mass culture. A versatile and multi-talented creator, his activities as a commercial designer, painter, filmmaker, and socialite crossed genre boundaries. ”Andy Warhol: 15 Minutes Eternal” provides a comprehensive retrospective of Warhol’s work, with nearly 700 examples from his archives dating from the start of his career as an artist through his final years. This is the largest Warhol exhibition ever presented in Japan. Bringing together examples from every major Warhol series, the exhibition is an all-encompassing introduction to the artist’s work. At the same time, with a number of works such as “Physiological Diagram” shown in Japan for the first time, it brings new discoveries to even seasoned Warhol aficionados.
