Kenji Shibata “Sei Solo”

Taguchi Fine Art
Finished

Artists

Kenji Shibata
Referring to Bach’s “Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin” Sei Solo connotes a collection of 6 solo compositions for violin, while at the same time suggesting “You are all on your own”, a challenge flung by Bach at the violinst to go it alone. And it is this challenge which Kenji Shibata takes up as he faces the empty canvas, pushed by a voice which says “You are all on your own”. Here Shibata features a collection of large scale works featured in the
Towada Oirase Art Festival.
