In 1995, the gallery Beyeler, Basel held the group exhibition “Who’s Afraid of Red” borrowing the title of the Burnet Newman’s series of works of 60’s and 70’s, with an impressive range of modern and contemporary art works. 20 years on the Kyoto based gallery En Arts featured the exhibition “eeny, meeny, miny, and moe | red”, centered upon the same singular color, and with this seemingly timely call to consider the heart of our visual senses within art Roentgenwerke presents “700nm”, so called after the definition of red within the light spectrum as stipulated by the International Commission on Illumination (CIE).
