NADiff Window Gallery presents the recorded images and printed materials from the talk series commemorating the reprinting of Yoshinori Niwa’s artbook “Reenacting Publicness: Translating Art Work Descriptions into 23 Languages.” On display are transcripts of the first day’s full 3.5 hours of talks by artists, designers, and editors, as well as discussions featuring Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper culture journalist Shoji Ichihara and dramatist Daisuke Kishii. These talks addressed Niwa’s purpose in translating an artbook into 23 languages, how designers designed the book to meet these aims, and how editors and publishers went about releasing the work overseas. Materials from second day of talks addressing issues of publicness and the nature of artwork are also presented. The contents of this exhibition, which describes Niwa’s book about describing art events, will be made available simultaneously on line.
