Martin Boyle
Working across photography, installation and sculpture Martin Boyle makes use of simple materials and in a playful manner reconstructs their meaning. Many of his works have touched upon the troubles faced in his home of Northern Ireland, yet this is achieved with a particular sense of poetry and humor. Here he presents a diverse range of work including photography, sculpture, text and participatory pieces which invite “misunderstandings” in the cross between truth, fiction and mistakes, calling upon his own feelings of discomfort as he confronted the urban landscapes of Japan during his 2 month stay, often with an inability to understand what was before his eyes.
