Shiseido opened its doors in 1872 as the first modern medicine dispensary in Japan. The name “Shiseido” comes from the Chinese Yi Jing (The Book of Changes) and literally means “everything is born from the blessings of the Earth. It takes its logo from the blooming of the camellia flower. This exhibition attempts to recapture the essence of the company’s philosophy in its respect for all living things under the title “Lifescape.” It is curated by artist Yoshihiro Suda, who creates delicate plant sculptures.
