Wisut Ponnimit
Six new lithograph prints and other drawings are featured in this exhibition of Thai manga artist Wisut Ponnimit, much loved for his character Tum-kun. Here Tum-kun makes his appearance in shades of retro style colors, alongside his sweetheart Mamuang. Wisut Ponnimit created a stir in the manga world when he became the first foreign artist to win the Japan Media Arts Festival Award for Manga in 2009 and has since gone on to make collaborations with the likes of Shuntaro Tanikawa, Banana Yoshimoto and Haruomi Hosono, becoming an artist of key importance for Japan’s cultural scene. And here he charms us yet again with the unique, endearing world of Tamu-kun.
