Hiroshi Nomura
Hiroshi Nomura, who passed away last September at the age of 52, produced photography for more than 600 CD jackets. His work also appeared on magazine covers, movie posters, and in photo collections. A single glance at Nomura’s photography impresses the viewer with its powerfully original style evoking fairytale worlds to get lost in. Nomura’s curious blend of dark pop influences, vivid colors, and dreamlike emotions, playfulness, and humor invites both pleasant and unpleasant emotions in an inimitable way. Many of Japan’s major artists love his work.

Nomura’s constant drive to experiment, make new discoveries, and take on challenges was perhaps part of his own personal quest to encounter new landscapes of the imagination. Parco Gallery X presents Nomura’s photographs in commemoration of the publication of a collection of his work.
