The Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava, the world’s largest picture book contest, has been hosted in the Slovakian capital every two years since 1967, when it started with the backing of Unesco and the International Board on Books for Young People. The 24th BIB in the autumn of 2013 presented original illustrations from 2,344 published picture books by 362 creators from 49 countries. This exhibition introduces selections from the 24th BIB, including the Grand Prix winner and illustrations by featured Japanese artists, as well as other unique and outstanding works.
