National Treasures of Japan

Tokyo National Museum
Finished
This exhibition brings together those treasures of cultural heritage that represent the culmination of the deep faith of the Japanese people, and attempts to reexamine the spirit of Japan’s cultural formation on a grand scale. Focusing on the theme of faith, it brings together paintings, sculptures, decorative arts, textual documents and archeological artifacts that have served as intermediaries between the divine spirits and the hearts of men. In them, we will witness the quintessence of Japanese culture, and through them we will enter into a timeless dialogue about how faith and the power of belief were formed and how they have been passed on to us today.
