Play IMT – On the Possibilities of Theatrical Creation Within the Intermediatheque

Intermediatheque
Finished
The University of Tokyo’s University Museum and the theatre troupe Seami present a public discussion about their collaborative project, which reunites members including Kim Seil (the Korean-born leader of Seami, who works in Japan as an actor, stage director, and technical trainer) and professor Yoshiaki Nishino (the director of the University Museum and Intermediatheque). They will discuss the project, from its beginnings to its future. Touching on the origins of the Intermediatheque collection and its activities, as well as its visitors and theatrical creative process, they ask, “What kinds of theatrical expressions can take shape within a museum space?” With all the meanings of the word “play” in mind, they discuss the theatrical possibilities of the Intermediatheque space from various viewpoints and reflect upon the future of the project.
*Admission: Free
The number of seats limited to 50. The discussion is in Japanese.
