Takahito Kimura
Takahito Kimura, an artist of exceptional style, has developed a series of works upon the theme of “Playing with the Earth,” departures from his early investigations into making the visible the invisible. In attempting to embody the powers of Earth and nature he points to the discrepancies in our experience of a common event, as highlighted by the Komorebi Project which aims to create subjective experiences through the reconstruction of natural phenomenon in the form of light filtered through the trees, artificially creating this effect by suspending a star shaped light above a grove and asking visitors to “catch” its star illuminations. Here in this exhibition it is not the phenomenon which is exhibited but the devices which provide the possibility of such encounter revealing the magic of an artist who can call forth the power of nature.
