Celebrating 40 years of the Nishimura Gallery through an exhibition of seven Japanese artists. Reflecting on its long history the gallery has provided a platform for leading British artists such as David Hockney, Richard Hamilton, Peter Blake, Anthony Green, Lucian Freud, Bridget Riley, David Nash, renowned international artists including Otto Dix, Paul Davis, Horst Antes, Antonio Segui, Walker Evans, Tony Cragg, and Kienholz as well as featuring key Japanese artists such as Koji Enokura, Goh Shigi, Yoji Kuri, Isamu Wakabayashi, Natsuyuki Nakanishi, with a reputation for being the first gallery to show Yayoi Kusama’s work upon her return from New York. Here the gallery pays tribute to its past and looks towards its future.
