Playing off the title of Ed van der Elsken’s 1954 photobook “Love on the Left Bank” Araki here pays homage to the influence of van der Elsken over his 20 year old self, inspired to photograph women in similar poses to those found in this publication, and here reinterprets this stimulus in a selection of 65 prints selected from his recent work.
