Since the 1990s, Pierre Huyghe has been using the structures of film to create videos probing the relationship between fiction and reality and other projects focusing on the systems at the root of art museums, exhibitions, modern architecture, copyrights, and ceremonies. A trailblazer who continues to expand the scope of contemporary art, Huyghe has won international attention and acclaim for his work. This exhibition looks back on his activities over the past five years, including the 2009-2010 video “The Host and the Cloud,” sculptures based on film motifs, and new works recently presented at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
