The people of Akita love Shuzo Ikeda’s woodblock prints, and are known give them to each other as gifts. The publisher Nana Roku Sha has released a book of 126 of Ikeda’s most famous prints, which are displayed here in honor of the collection’s publication. Ikeda’s multicolor prints display high degrees of skill and artistry, evoking beauty and undertones of nostalgia best appreciated in their originals.
