Kimiko Otomo
Kimiko Otomo is an artist who produces portraits and still life with photographic realism. Amongst her portraiture work appear models, and characters which appear to reach beyond imagination, drawing from the likes of Kobo Abe’s “Hako otoko” and Camus’ “Le Mythe de Sisyphe”, while also referencing Kierkegaard and Satre. Here still life work features principally foodstuffs from bananas to raw meat, captured in such a way as to make us forget their function as food. Visitors are invited to touch that something beyond in this collection of work.
