Offering up new angles from which to perceive reality in an exposition of leading trends in contemporary art observed through the work of young Japanese artists, the ‘MOT Annual 2014’ centers around the concept of the ‘fragment’ as its featured artists draw upon the splinters of the whole in the creation of their own unique new worlds. While sifting through these infinite grains and carefully adhering one to the other, these artists observe the possibilities which arise amongst the fragile and incomplete, exciting the imagination and inviting the viewer on a journey from ‘here’ to elsewhere, pointing towards a new way of accessing a world which appears to engulf us in a vortex of superfluous information beyond our grasp.
