Artists

Katsuhiko Tamura
The “White Road” series first began in 1999 as Katsuhiko Tamura took the road through Tango to Yamashiro and Todaiji, then followed by the mountain paths through Ikaruga, Asuka and Yoshino to Ise. After an ongoing journey of 15 years he now undertakes the path from Ise to Kumano, walking as people of the ancient past once trod towards the rebirth of spirits in Heian era, returning to an essential style of charcoal painting and calling upon the spirits of Kumano.
