Conflict is a daily reality for Palestine and yet George Ibrahim and Al-Kasaba Theatre have garnered global acclaim for their ironic and satirical takes on the Middle East. Ibrahim here collaborates with up-and-coming Japanese director Yukari Sakata to re-construct an inventive new version of Akutagawa’s short stories, based on the original texts, the famous Akira Kurosawa film, and a Broadway stage adaptation. With an all-Palestinian cast and created out of workshops in Palestine and Tokyo, the unique international team crafts universal theatre about perspective, truth and justice.
