Hori-gotatsu is a contemporary painting group, taking up the legacy of the “Kotatsu School” as delineated by Makoto Aida’s claims that “The Japanese people love the kind of minute work created leaning over a desk”. Here Hori-gotatsu take on the curation of an exhibition of over 20 artists in the promotion of an art movement which aims to sweep both artist and viewer off their feet.
