Arata Isozaki “Labyrinth in Motion”

Misa Shin Gallery
Finished

Artists

Arata Isozaki
Isozaki’s diverse array of works, ranging from his current projects to those dating back to the 1960s, all share the idea of architecture as “anti-fixation.” They are approached from a broadened concept of what architecture can be.
The following drawings and models originally presented at previous exhibitions are on display:

• “Fukuoka Mutual Bank Oita Branch” (1966). Presented at the “Colors and Space” and “From Space to Environment.”
• “A House” (1969). A house consisting entirely of robot-like contraptions that respond to the residents’ movements.
• “Obscured Horizon” (2007). Bedrooms erected in the Californian desert.
• “Ark Nova” (2012). A mobile concert hall for a proposal to create a theatrical space within architecture.
•“Fukuoka Mutual Bank Oita Branch Silkscreen”
