Presenting works by a product designer and Nihonga painters. “Akugaru” is a word from the Heian era referring to the realization of an age in which the spiritual and otherworldly can be grasped through common understanding. “Akugaru” differs from the subjective meaning of the contemporary term “akogaru” (to long for), possessing objectivity and expressing a detachment from emotion.
*Regretfully Atsumi Izumi who originally planned to join this exhibition can no longer do so due to illness.
