DGT
DGT is a Paris-based architecture firm with projects all over the world led by Dan Dorell of Italy, Lina Ghotmeh of Lebanon, and Tsuyoshi Tane of Japan. Seeking to return to the original source of creativity, for its current window display at Maison Hermès this global team has gone all the way back to the Cambrian era, a time before humans existed when innumerable forms of life differentiated themselves within the ocean depths. DGT has drawn upon the energy of this era, forming a huge structure from overlapping semi-transparent white paper transformed into many shapes by human hands. Beautiful mermaids appear and retreat from this large mass that appears to breathe. Although they come from a fairytale that could only exist today, these mermaids are just one of the forms of life that danced in the calm expanse of the Cambrian ocean.
