Osamu Fukushima
Upon discovering the term “Social Design” Osamu Fukushima determined that with a sense of gratitude he wanted to devote himself to investigating the possibilities of design to make a contribution to society. Just as he set out on this path the disaster of 3.11 occurred and Fukushima began a course of support through design. In this practice of design as a means of support, Fukushima was pushed to reexamine the essential function of graphic design, and what form of design is needed by society. In this exhibition he introduces his contributions to various NPOs working for the good of society alongside theater posters which he has continued to design over 25 years.
