Joani Tremblay
Canadian artist Joani Tremblay (b. 1984) has been participating in 3331 Arts Chiyoda’s open residency program since early July. In recent years her work has been featured at exhibits in New York, London, and Quebec and included in the Loto-Quebec Collection and various other private collections. This residenye at 3331 marks her first stay in Japan. As an artist, she continues to research aesthetics while referencing Neo-Ornamentalism. Her research-centered works are characterized by various paper bases, on which she interweaves drawings of enormous, abstract-seeming dots and lines that appear to gradually emerge, move, and fade on their own.
