Azamino Photo Annual “War and Camera”

Yokohama Civic Gallery, Azamino
Finished
An exhibition of over 100 photographs and cameras introduces the relationship between war and photography. With the outbreak of war following shortly after the invention of the camera, photography became a way of informing people about the realities of the battlefield, while also being developed towards army training and reconnaissance missions, even capturing what could not be seen with the naked eye. This exhibition traces the impact of the camera upon our view of war.
