Koganecho Bazaar is an art festival organized by the Koganecho Area Management Center, in collaboration with local partners, as an ongoing effort towards community-renovation of the Koganecho area in Yokohama. Over the last six years it has welcomed 140 artists and creators from around the world, hosting their work in all sorts of spaces around the neighborhood with the continued focus upon “art and community”. Fictive Communities Asia – Koganecho Bazaar 2014 marks the beginning of a new phase in this international art exhibition, aiming to situate Yokohama as an important cultural hub in Asia, and provide a new think-tank network and platform among the Asian art communities, with additional events including an international symposium, theater program and celebration of local food.
